Helsinki city home surrounded by great outdoor facilities!
Our flat is located 7 km from the Helsinki downtown in the area of Viikki bay (Viikinranta). By bus we are 25 minutes away from the city center and by walk we are 200 m away from great outdoor paths. Arabia factory outlet (for those interested in Finnish porceline and design) is in our neighbourhood.
Our home (102sqm) is in 4 family apartment building with really friendly neighbours. We have a large balcony (22sqm) and especially in the summer time it is the most used room in our home. We share the garden with our neighbours and have barbeque place and outdoor table that can be used in summer time.
In the neighbourhood (1,5 km): supermarket, a pharmacy, beach, few restaurants, Arabia factory outlet and a small movie theater held by art students. Forests, many trails and other opportunities for outdoor activities (by sea and the river). We love our location and we are happy to help you with finding good places to go to.

Few hundred meters from our home is the Vanhankaupunginlahti, which is a bay area which together with parts of adjoining Viikki district constitute a natural conservation zone near downtown Helsinki. The area is listed in Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance, is part of European Union's Natura 2000 program and is also listed as BirdLife International's Important Bird Area. There are may beautiful paths and bird watching towers. One of the pearls is the duckboard path to isle of sheep (Lammassaari). Beautiful path to have a picnic with family or morning run with oneself.
The Arabianranta district is also 1 km away from our home. It is a modern housing area build by the sea and around the old Arabia porceline factory. Beside the Arabia there is the area of Toukola with it's beautiful old wooden houses and nice gardens.
Ferries and cruising boats to near archipelago or Tallinn and Stockholm are easily available from Helsinki.

Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt und wir haben gern mit der finnischen Familie getauscht.
We met our hosts at the airport. A friendly Finnish family ! We communicated throughout our exchange. The apartment is very beautiful and very well placed. Close to a bus stop, so it was very easy to get to the hyper center of Helsinki while being quiet and surrounded by greenery ! We are delighted with this exchange!
Mikko, Terhi and family are very nice and respectful of the things of others, they left our house very clean and tidy. It was a not simultaneous exchange, we spent a very good time with them, we have had fun and dinners together. They left us a very nice gifts for us and for our son, they left also a greeting card that made us move...very sweet. It was a great experience, very reliable family, good people. We are very happy to go next year to visit them in Finland.

We are a family with two boys at the age of 13 and 15.
We enjoy good food, beautiful scenes and experiences, culture, music and various sports (skiing, snowboarding, biking...).
We, Terhi and Mikko, are having the normal Finnish holidays, which means that we have 4-5 weeks in summer time, 1 week around Christmas and 1 week in February. For those periods we have a possibility for home exchange.
We are a family that takas good care of our home and we would do the same at your home :)
