COMFORTABLE HOME WITH LARGE GARDEN AND SWIMMING POOL - A GREEN GETAWAY in the Loire valley
We live in a very quiet neighborhood on a dead end street close to our village center and not far from a national forest.
OUR HOUSE :
It has 4 bedrooms, 3 with double beds.
On the ground floor you will find :
- The California-style kitchen
- The lounge/dining room opening onto the large shaded terrace overlooking the garden.
- 2 bathrooms, one with bath and one with shower
- Our bedroom looks onto the patio next to the first bathroom.
On the second floor :
- 3 bedrooms : one room with double mezzanine bed and convertible sofa and another one well suited for children too. One guest-room (with double bed) next to the second bathroom.
In the basement :
- A washroom + a cellar with one extra fridge/freezer.
LARGE GARDEN : 3000 m2, enclosed, grassed with lots of trees , extremely quiet and green (with lots of raspberries in summer for you to taste)
Parking space for 3 vehicles
A volleyball /badminton playground .
Outdoor games (pétanque set and tennis rackets)
Large parking space inside the garden and very easy to park on the street too!
OFFGROUND SWIMMING POOL
We will leave the instructions for maintenance.
COSY CHÂLET (log cabin) next to the house with a loft where children can have fun and sleep there too as there is a double bed upstairs.

About the neighborhood
IN THE HEART OF THE CHATEAUX COUNTRY,
Tours is 60 mns from Paris by TGV train and it is the capital city of Touraine where we live is 20 miles from our place (direct D943 road on the map).
Cultural life and attractions guaranteed.
It is located between the Cher and the Loire rivers with… the » Châteaux de la Loire ».
Chenonceaux and Amboise for example are only half an hour‘s drive from our place. The most famous ones like Chambord, Villandry, Blois are an hour's drive away :

- nature spotting : we are close to la Brenne in Indre, (its wildlife natural park is 40 miles south from here)
- wine-tasting : The area is famous for it wine and food, thus you can follow the wine routes, -tasting as you go-, or just visit the wine caves along the Loire river.
The Loire valley is one the best wine growing areas stretching from Sancerre in the east through Vouvray Chinon, Bourgueil and Saumur around Tours to Angers.

. The mini-châteaux are small scale models of the major châteaux close to Amboise.
. There are lots of old market towns, pretty villages and beautiful old abbeys and churches full of history, all within a short drive around.
Montrésor classified among les Plus Beaux Village de France with light effects at the Nuits solaires, is located halfway between Loches and Beauval zoo.
. We are also very close to Amboise and Le Clos Lucé (Leonard de Vinci's last dwelling with his inventions presented in a great museum indoors and outdoors).
. The Chartreuse du Liget a monastique complex at the other end of the forest is worth the visit.
Canoeing on the Cher up to Chenonceaux castle is a unique experience too and 20 mn by car.
Chédigny is our closest picturesque village, very famous for its rose festival and all its local artists. So it is always worth visiting...only 4 kms away :

There is also a lake in Chemillé, only 15km north from Loches. A beach with café, restaurants too.

It is an idyllic rural spot for whatever your interests are : hiking in Loches widespread national forest, directly from our village or cycling.
Cultural and historical sightseeing at hand, first in Loches (pop 7,000), is a small medieval and Renaissance town with its château, its museums and its keep and thus, very picturesque and pleasant for strolling around.
Loches has lots of restaurants, cafés and shops that a large town offers, is well supplied with supermarkets, an excellent open market (on Wednesday and Saturday mornings).

Magnifique maison au coeur du village de Chevroux et accès au lac de Neuchâtel et au port à proximité très appréciable. Le jardin aussi. Nous sommes ravis de cet échange. Nous avons retrouvé la maison en parfait état. Merci à Rita et Eric!
Quel échange fabuleux! Nous nous sommes sentis tout de suite extrêmement bien dans cette superbe maison si bien située pour découvrir Bruges, et très bien décrite sur le site. Des échanges très amicaux qui vont rester. A pied en 10mn en ville et aussi grâce aux vélos à disposition, nous avons pu visiter autour avec plaisir malgré le temps de novembre. Un gâteau nous attendait à la maison... Que demander de plus. Merci à Kees et Anna et à Intervac.
Een zeer comfortabel huis van waaruit veel valt te ondernemen. Prachtige kastelen dicht in de buurt. We hadden een fijn contact met de familie en een zeer goede communicatie. Een aangename ervaring!

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 adult children that are now independent in their vacation but may visit us a short time. If so we will ask you whether you agree with it.
I'm Swiss-French and Philippe is from Blois originally.
We started swapping homes with the boys in 1992! They have become globetrotters, no wonder and now both work in Switzerland.
That's why we love traveling and cultural exchanges too.
We have really enjoyed all our exchange experiences a lot!
We have always done simultaneous home swaps and sometimes were able to meet our exchange host family and become friends too... These are amazing times and unforgettable when we can keep in touch and meet again,
Then we would love to have a simultaneous home exchange in summertime or later at a convenient time for you.
We are flexible as I teach languages and my husband is retired, the dates would most likely be during school holidays (starting in July until end of September, and at Halloween or Christmas)
We love outdoor activities : I'm a coach in nordic walking in the forest close to our house, and we both enjoy hiking and cycling.
