Wonderful 1920s family home in Naarden, Amsterdam area
We have had 14 home exchanges and love this way of travelling to get to know other families, countries and cultures! We are open for all exchange offers and will always respond. For shorter periods, we love to visit Europe, but this year we aim to take a longer vacation in the US, Canada or Asia as well!
Our wonderful home with large, private garden close to Amsterdam and close to nature is available for exchanges. We have had many succesfull exchanges in the past and love to discover new places close by and farther away!
Our family of four (Martijn, 46; Julia, 45; Anna, 15; and Isaac, almost 12) live in Naarden, which is a great town, close to forests and just 20 mins by train or car from Amsterdam. Lots of great facilities in the area for kids, including several big nature playgrounds with restaurants on biking distance. Tons of walking and hiking opportunities as well as a nice town with restaurants and shops. Our house is about 150 m2 and has 4 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. We have bikes for everyone and lots of toys and games to use!

About the neighborhood
We live in a quiet, dead-end street. The town of Naarden Vesting, a charming old town, is about 15 mins walking away. So is the center of Bussum which has lots of shops. We are quite close to the highway which makes Amsterdam close by. From our house, it is a 5 mins walk to the forest where you can walk for hours.

This is an absolutely lovely house & family in a very charming town. We would absolutely advise positively on an exchange!
The exchange was very nice. The house is wonderful. The area is very interesting and in a perferct position to look Amsterdam and a loto of other town. It is possible to reach the station by feet and the trains, and the timetable are very good to go around. We had a very good comunication with the family.
A very original, light, surprising and impressive loft house in an architecturally interesting, urban part of town just outside the Peripherique. This family is very sweet and welcoming. Their home with its nice shared garden is an excellent base to explore Paris, just 6 mins walk from the metro. The photos give a good impression of the house.
Très bon contact avec la famille avant l'échange. La maison est ravissante et parfaitement conforme à l'annonce.

Martijn and Julia both work in the non-profit sector for culture & nature organisations. Our kids love music, climbing (in the rock climbing hall closeby) and skating and gaming. We have a cat named Mary, who has lived with us for a year now.
As you would guess from our jobs, we love cultural activities such as making and listening to music; visiting exhibitions and plays; discovering monuments and architecture. With our house, we like design if we can afford it, but more importantly, love to be creative and design our own surroundings.
In the weekends, we go running, make cycling trips, or go hiking in the woods or on the beach. Or we visit one of the many museums Amsterdam has!
