Our village, West Falmouth, is a rural part of Falmouth with easy access to beaches, a harbor, bike path and walking paths. In the village we have a neighborhood market and cafe, a library, an ice cream and coffee shop (summer only), and an historic Methodist Church and Quaker Meeting House.
In Falmouth Center, about 8 miles from our home, there is a beautiful New England main street with a town park and a classic town green surrounded by stately homes, churches (one with a bell crafted by Paul Revere), and the Museums on the Green with two 18th century houses complete with period furnishings. From Main Street you can gaze out at Shiverick's Pond or browse the many shops, boutiques, art galleries, cafes and restaurants. There is a Chamber of Commerce visitor center ready to assist visiting tourists and an impressive main library with an expansive front lawn, both with available wi-fi access.
The Falmouth Historical Society has exhibits on the whaling industry and the life of "America the Beautiful" author Katharine Lee Bates. Her birthplace at 16 Main Street was restored and is now a private residence. Another historic site is 1878 Highfield Hall which has been restored by a local non-profit group. The house and grounds are open year-round to the public with a museum, galleries, garden and special programs. Also on the grounds is Highfield Theatre, home of the College Light Opera Company (CLOC), a summer repertory theater. A new musical production is performed by college students every week throughout the summer.
Considered part of Falmouth, Woods Hole is a distinct location and destination. It is the home to three world-class scientific research institutions with visitor centers, an aquarium and museum. Woods Hole has good restaurants, coffee shops, gift shops and is where the ferries to Martha's Vineyard depart.

Familje presentation, fri text
Ken (78) is a retired Engineer and Michele (69) is a retired Banker. Our family consists of Ken's two adult children and four grandchildren and Michele's two adult children and two grand-dogs. Since retiring, we spend time in the winter at our second home in Florida and in the summer traveling to Intervac Home exchanges. We enjoy visiting museums, historic sites, attending music events and meeting the people in the area. We are members of the local singers group, Falmouth Chorale, as well as our church choir, and Ken is active in volunteer groups in the community. Traveling and spending time with friends and family, especially with our 4 grandchildren, keeps us busy.
