Wien, Vienna, Austria
Servus aus Wien!
We are a family living very central in the city of Vienna. Our flat is located directly in a small quiet street facing a small Park including also a little playground. It is very bright, has a lot of direct sun and is very quiet. At the same time you are in the middle of the city and you can reach many different and wonderful spots within a few minutes walk.
Just around the corner you find Cafe - Jelinek - which is really one of the most authentic and charming cafes of Vienna famous for its homemade cakes and breakfast which you can get there all day long. On the opposite side of the street the restaurant Steman offers you typical Austrian dishes. Both places provide during the warm season the typical 'Schanigärten' where you can also sit outside and enjoy the Grätzl - this very typical viennese neighborhood.
Within walking distance you can further reach a bunch of different restaurants with all imaginable international kitchens from italian to india etc.
Also the Shopping infrastructure is perfect. Within two minutes walk you are in the Mariahilferstrasse which is one of the biggest and most famous shopping streets of Vienna. Here you will find anything you need from supermarkets for daily goods to special boutiques. The undergroundstation U3 Zieglergasse is very close, which connects you directly to the citycenter with the St. Stephans Cathedral (5min. ride)
Generally you can reach within 15-20 min all interesting locations like main theaters, the Opera, the Museums Quarter, Schönbrunn, the Naschmarkt with its weekly fleemarket every saturday etc.
You can directly travel by train to many other Austrian Citys like Linz (1,25h), Salzburg (2,5h), Innsbruck (4,25h)
The apartment itself is a traditional viennese Altbauwohnung with high ceilings, wooden floor and original woodwindows. On 100m2 it offers a living room, three different sleeping rooms two with two double beds kitchen with an eating place and access to a small balcony.
We have lived in different places in Vienna, but we really love our home now for its charm, the central location and its really nice neighborhood.
If you want to explore Vienna and its really amazing cultural live its the perfect homebase. As we have two daughters your kids (if you plan a family trip) would also find a lot of toys and like the kids rooms.
This summer (2019) we would love to spend 1 -2 weeks in Brittany or Sweden.
A house surrounded by natural environment or on the sea would be our dream...
But we are also open for any other suggestions... as we are always open for a short termed swap to any interesting European City.
Hope to hear from you!
Mario & family
