Groet, Netherlands

Our home is a very nice family house in a quiet, friendly neighborhood in a little village called Groet. The house is comfortably furnished and equipped with every comfort. You will find a spacious living room with comfortable seating. There is a dining table with 6 chairs. A fully equipped luxury kitchen with dishwasher and combi microwave. A laundry room with washer, dryer and freezer apparatus. On the first floor there are two bedrooms. A bedroom with a double bed, a room with a single bed and a modern bathroom with shower.

The village Groet has a fantastic geographical location; near the North Sea coast with the beautiful sandy beach, the Hondsbossche sea wall, the vast woodlands and dunes and the vast polders.
In the Centre of Groet (100 m) are a supermarket, bakery, butcher, bicycle repair and several restaurants and cosy terraces.

Groet is situated at the foot of the National Park De Schoorlse Duinen, the widest and most varied nature reserve along the Dutch coast. Beautiful hiking trails and bicycle paths that swing between dunes and polder landscape.

About 2 km from Groet is the village Schoorl. In the middle of the village Schoorl is a unique “klimduin”, a climb dune of no less than 54 meters high! At the foot of the climb dune are nice shops and restaurants. Next to the climb dune there is plenty to do such as special activities in the outdoor centre the Schoorlse Duinen.

In the village of Bergen (8 km of Groet) is art, culture and cultural history the elements that determine the atmosphere. In Bergen you can visit for museums and galleries, an artists ' Centre, boutiques, and even an artificial ski slope. In addition, there are the annual events as the art 10-day, Holland Music Sessions, slightly evening, the summer art market and various street fairs.

Alkmaar (15 km from Groet) is a cosy town with picturesque canals and special shops. Tip: the Fnidsen is the old shopping area with the nicest boutiques. The cheesemarket Alkmaar will take place from April untill september , every friday from 10 am untill 12.30 pm on the Waagplein.Thousands of visitors from all over the world visit Alkmaar for its cheese market,a particular spectacle which includes a market filled with cheese and hauling cheese carriers.

Attractive towns like Haarlem (30 km) and Amsterdam (60 km) with numerous tourist and leisure facilities are also within a short drive away.

“All-in-one” is undoubtedly applicable to Groet and environment. Where do you find now in one place beach, sea and dunes, combined with beautiful forests? Where can you walk and cycle through the unspoiled nature alternate with having a drink on terraces, sunbathing and shopping? Where do you find deep rest as easily, as crowds and art and culture all so close to each other?
