Bilbao, Spain

Bilbao es una ciudad situada en la parte norte del País Vasco, a unos 30 km del mar. Está atravesado por el río Nervión y ofrece diferentes servicios culturales, comerciales y de ocio.

Entre su oferta cultural podrás visitar el Museo Guggenheim Bilbao, así como el Museo de Bellas Artes, el Museo Etnológico, y muchas otras pinacotecas. La casa está situada cerca del ayuntamiento (quince minutos) y se tarda veinticinco minutos andando para llegar al Museo Guggenheim a lo largo de la orilla del río. Frente al museo, cruzando el río, el funicular te llevará a Artxanda, una pequeña montaña con muy buenas vistas de toda la ciudad.

Caminando hacia el otro lado del ayuntamiento se llega en cinco minutos a la Parte Vieja de la Ciudad, un lugar lleno de color local. Allí podrás visitar la catedral gótica, con un importante claustro, el de Arriaga teatro y el principal mercado de la ciudad, un edificio de principios del siglo XX situado justo al lado del río.

La parte central de la ciudad llamada 'Ensanche' está compuesta por muchos edificios importantes y sus calles están llenas de tiendas interesantes con muchos productos típicos del País Vasco y muchos restaurantes buenos.

En las inmediaciones de Bilbao se puede llegar a varias playas como Las Arenas, Sopelana, Plentzia, etc. tomando el metro. A tan solo 30 km de Bilbao se encuentra Bakio, con una gran playa y una iglesia muy curiosa llamada San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, construida en una roca en el mar.

Yendo hacia el interior se puede visitar el bosque de Oma, un lugar mágico transformado en land art por Agustín Ibarrola, pintor vasco. También hay varias rutas rurales que te llevarán al vasco. paisaje verde Recomendamos visitar el Parque natural de Urkiola, la zona de Urdaibai y la playa salvaje de Azkorri. Bilbao is a city situated in the north part of the Basque Country, about 30 km far from the sea. It’s crossed by the river Nervión and offers many different cultural, commercial and spare time services.
 
Between its cultural offers you will be able to visit the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum, and also de Fine Arts Museum, the Etnologic museum, and many other art galleries.
 
The house is situated near from the town hall (fiifteen minutes) and it takes twenty five minutes walking to get to the Guggenheim Museum along the riverside. In front of the museum, crossing the river, the funicular  will take you to Artxanda, a little mountain with very good views all over the city.
 
Walking to the other way from the town hall it get in five minutes to the Old Part of the City, a place full of local colour. There you will be able to visit the gothic cathedral, with an important cloister, the Arriaga
theatre and the main market of the city, a building from the early XX century situated just close to the river.
 
The central part of the city called ‘Ensanche’ is composed by many important buildings and its streets are full of interesting shops with a lot of typical products from the Basque Country and many fine restaurants.
 
In the immediate surrounding area of Bilbao you can get to several beaches as Las Arenas, Sopelana, Plentzia, etc. taking the underground. Just 30 km away from Bilbao is situated Bakio, with a large beach and a very curious church called San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, which is built in
a rock in the sea.
 
Going to the inland you can visit the Oma forest, a magical place transformed in land art by Agustin Ibarrola, a basque painter. There are also several country routes that will get you to the basque
green landscape. We recommend visiting natural Park of Urkiola (we appeared here in the picture above) 40 km far from Bilbao.
