Apartment together with Summer Cottage in Kajaani, Finland
We can offer you an apartment in heart of Kajaani City. We have three bedrooms: one with kingsizebed, one with singlebed and one with sofabed for two. In the livingroom iwith balcony is bright and spacious and kitchen beside it just renovated. Sauna, showerroom and loundryroom with washer and dryer are also brand new. We have beds for five and two extrabeds, if its needed.
You also have an opportinity to spend time in our summer cottage, just 13 kilometers from Kajaani city center. The cottage is a small oneroom house with sauna and large patio. It's located beside a very clean but deep pond where you can swim. We have a small gardenplot there where you can pick herbs, strawberries and other berries. There's plenty on greengrass for children to run.

Welcome to Kajaani!
Kajaani is located about 600 km north of Helsinki and 180 km east from Oulu. You can reach Kajaani by plane (Paltaniemi airport), by train or by car. This town is a gateway and a regional capital of beautiful Kainuu, a region of forests and lakes. We have four clearly distinct seasons and they all offer different kind on attractions to visitors.
Our home is situated in Kajaani city center. From our door step you can easily reach Raatihuoneen tori market square and small Kajaani art museum is only one block from our home. The bigger museum, Kainuu museum, is also in a walking distance. Next to the river Kajaani you can start a walking trail Renforsin lenkki along Kajaani riverbank, and see many historic signs providing glimpses into the town's past, for example Castel ruins. If you love fishing, you can fish on a area between rapids of Koivukoski and Ämmäkoski, Linnavirta. A fishing permit is needed but these are free and easily obtained. There are some well-known events in Kainuu, for example Vuokatti hiihto, Kajaani poetry week (in July), Kuhmo Chamber music festival, the Swamp Soccer World Championships in Hyrynsalmi, Kajaani Dance, Kainuu Orienteering Week, Kainuu Rowing. Kajaani International dogshow (in January).
Kajaani lies between two important tourism centres, the Vuokatti ski resort and Lake Oulujärvi.
In Vuokatti there is a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, f.e SuperPark Vuokatti, Katinkulta spa, downhill skiing, cross country skiing on a World Cup standard tracts, golf course in a beautiful natural setting and top Finnish baseball games. Vuokatti is also very famous hiking destination and has extremely good tracks for mountain biking. In Lake Oulujärvi, 'the sea of Kainuu' you can fish, take a boat or canooing trip or just admire the beautiful view. One boat trip destination is island Ärjänsaari "the pearl of Oulujärvi". In our family there are three children and adults Petteri and Krista. Petteri works as a production manager in global company, Krista is speech and language therapist. We have three lovely children: Severi 23 and Maisa 19 are alredy adults and on their own but they travel with sometimes. Ossi, 15, in still living with us. We also have a Nova Scotian Duck Tolling Retriever.
Our home in well equipped for family with children (toys, puzzles, books, bikes, etc) and there's playgrounds nearby.
