Cosy and sunny flat with great view in the middle of West-Berlin, Germany

Our apartment is very centrally located in Berlin. A variety of shops (pedestrian zone 800 m away), cinemas, theaters are within walking distance.
Tourist attractions can be reached either on foot or easily by bike or by public transport. I have noted the distance from our apartment under the photos.
We love riding bikes around town. The car usually stops at our house.
There are rental bicycles in many places in Berlin. Rental electric scooters recently also.

The rooms:

Main sleeping room with double-bed (180 x 200). The sleeping room and the study are situated towards the street. But due to good windows we don't hear the traffic. The terrace door (calm side of the house) can stay open over night.

Study with single bed
If necessary, a comfortable folding bed can be set up so that 2 people can sleep in the study.

Bathroom with tub, shower and toilet.

All rooms and items are in a good condition and clean.

Our Car
Opel Meriva with 5 doors, for up to 5 persons.
Because of the very well-developed transport system you don't need a car in and around Berlin. In case we travel by our own car you can use our parking space for free (separate parking place behind our neighbour-house).

Public Transport
You can reach different kinds of public transport (bus, tube, interurban-train) within a few minutes walk. There is a bus station a few meters from our house. So you easily can go to any destination you want.

Cycling
We have two pedelecs (E-bikes).
Berlin is a city of bicycles (721 bicycles per 1,000 people)! Many roads (just as our street) have their own bike paths. If you are travelling by car, you permanently have to regard the bikes.

Airports
Berlin-Brandenburg-International (BER), about 30 km from our flat. It is easy to get there by train.

ENGLISCH:
Our apartment is located in Charlottenburg, in the middle of the "City West". The small, quiet rooftop terrace offers views over Berlin, and when you leave through the front door, you are "in the middle" of the action. The apartment is located between Charlottenburg castle and famous "Kurfürstendamm".
Passing boutiques, cafes and restaurants you reach within a few steps "Wilmersdorfer Straße", the first pedestrian zone of Berlin, offering countless shopping.

The opera house "Deutsche Oper" is only 800 meters away from our apartment.

Use our bikes and cycle through "Tiergarten" (Berlins large, centrally located Park) to "Brandenburger Tor", on the way back pass the “Reichstag” (house of parliament) and Chancellery, have a drink in the garden café on the Spree behind the "Haus der Kulturen der Welt" (Berliner call it pregnant oyster) facing the back of the Chancellery, continue along river Spree, pass "Schloss Bellevue" (residence of the President) and cycle through the northern part of the Tiergarten back to our home.

We love especially to cycle along channel and river Spree to "Schloss Charlottenburg". Have a leisurely coffee-hour in the garden of the Royal Café. Join one of the passenger ships near the castle and enjoy sightseeing fromout river Spree and canal.
The “Zoologischer Garten”, the oldest zoo in Germany with the greatest biodiversity in the world, is also within walking distance.
Berlin offers something for everyone! Welcome!

DEUTSCH:

Herzlich Willkommen!

Lifestyle

We are living in Berlin since 2010. We love this town and we love also to explore places where we never have been before, maybe capitals or rural areas. Unfortunately, Arnold has to go on dialysis 3 times a week. A dialysis station shouldn't be too far away.
Our first home exchange was in 1991. Now we are awaiting our 35th swap.
We have two sons, one of them lives with his wife in Berlin-Kreuzberg, the other one with his wife in Copenhagen.
