House in Auvers-sur-Oise, Van Gogh's village near Paris in the natural Vexin park.
Dear intervac members,
Our house is located in a peaceful area on the heights of Auvers-sur-Oise just few minutes from the Impressionist Castle and other museums( Maison du doctor Gachet, Musée de l'absinthe, Auberge Ravoux, Atelier Daubigny et Musée Daubigny etc…). Auvers-sur-Oise has a special "Guinguette" atmosphere close the Oise river.
It's central position between city and typical countryside. You can reach Paris and its exciting places to visit or go for long walks across the Vexin countryside. During summer there are many activities offered by the National Trust.
If you want to visit exciting Paris and relax at the end of the day, our place is a good compromise between both of them.
From Auvers-sur-Oise you can visit places like Paris, Giverny, La Roche Guyon and Chantilly castles, and many other places.
If you have children they might enjoy going to Dysneyland or Asterix Park which are approximately 1h drive from our place.
On the first floor, there is a living room and dining room with an open space kitchen that views on the garden behind the house. There are toilets as well.
On the second floor, there are 3 bedrooms ( one with a queen size bed, one with a single bed and the office with a convertible sofa) and a bathroom.
There is a basement where you can do your laundry.
The garden is 400 square meters with an apple tree and lilacs. Some summers, we plant tomato and zucchini's plants. There is a slide.The adjacent terrace allows to enjoy barbecues if you wish.
You can park your vehicle in front of the house.

About the neighborhood
Auvers-sur-Oise.
In a few minutes by foot you can enjoy the Impressionist Castle gardens. There is a museum and a nice restaurant in the Castle as well.
Still in Auvers-sur-Oise there are places as the Auberge Ravoux (place where Van Gogh stayed) you can visit and enjoy a typically French meal or tea time in the afternoon. There are a few museums in the village such as the Daubigny museum, The Doctor Gachet's House etc...

If you are wishing to go for shopping on foot, you can go for a 15 minutes walk down the village and you will find a bakery, a supermarket( 7 days a week) and market (twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays). There is a farm that sales fresh vegetables and fruits about 5 minutes drive. There are restaurants as well: three traditional French restaurants ,one Indian, one Chineese.

There are nice walks along the Oise river where you can pic nic either near the river or in the park of Méry-sur-Oise which as a lovely park with a castle and huge trees.
Swimming pools are about 15 minutes drive in the towns of L'Isle Adam, Pontoise or Cergy.
L'Isle Adam offers a nice open space swimming pool with many activities ( mini-golf, beach volley, ping-pong, beach soccer, paddles, pedal, small boats).
In the Vexin park there are many walks to do, fishing, horse riding, canoe, bike renting, museums to visit.

There are quite a few golfs as well if you practice and want to train. (Hermitage golf in Ennery is 10minutes drive)
Paris can be reached easily by train in approximately 45 min from direct train station Méry-sur-Oise or Auvers-sur-Oise.
Versailles, Giverny, La Roche-Guyon, Chantilly, Asterix Park and Dysneyland are be reached easily by car.
The "Somme Bay" is also a beautifull place to visit with its Marquenterre natural park( birds wildlife ), sealife watching, within 1h15 drive from our place.

We are both teachers enjoying discovering new places, walks in nature, art, different languages and cultures.
Sandro, is a kind and respectful teenager that enjoys life, discovering new things, cycling, playing music(saxophone), reading and playing at video games.
We have also two brother cats aged 1 year old called Neko and Cooper. They are very kind cats playing together and enjoying cuddles. The most of the time they live outside and they will just need to be fed once a day.
