Quiet flat in Sweden's most bike-friendly city
We live in a 3-room-flat on the first floor (premier étage) of a eight-storey-house built in 1967, in a very quiet neighbourhood, 3 km south of the city centre of Malmö. The house has a lift. You can't see any cars from where we live. A cycle path just outside takes you comfortably int the city centre.
Our flat is quite functional. You will find everything you need: electric induction cooker, refrigerator, freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher and a table for at least four persons. Special comfort: our bedroom has two adjustable beds. We have a large, east-facing glass balcony. Very suitable for breakfast!
There is a large, well-assorted COOP grocery store only 300 m from here. Other distances:
- Ärtholmens Sommarstad - a large allotment; beautiful indivual gardens - 300 m
- Pildammsparken, one of Sweden's largest parks - 1 km
- Triangeln Railway station. A train brings you to and from Copenhagen centre, half an hour away, every twenty minutes - 2 km
- Malmö's Old town - 3 km
- Ribersborg Beach, sandy and family friendly, on the Öresund - 4 km
- New Västra Hamnen area, meeting point for young people, with Malmö's most prominentl landmark, the "twisting" tower Turning Torso - 4 km
- Malmö Central station - 4 km
Malmö is one of the world's most bike-friendly cities! Partly for that reason we have no car anymore. There are, nevertheless, a few visitor /Intervac/ parking spaces nearby.
As we are keen cyclotourists we would be happy to help you plan bike tours in and around Malmö.

We live in a quite neigbourhood with a little park outside our window. There is just a bicycle path, you can't see or hear any cars.

A cozy little town in the middle of the green, hilly Wienerwald. That’s where we spent a wonderful week in April 2025, living in Wigelbeyer’s big house. After the Intervac exchange, we spent a few days in Vienna, at a hotel in Leopoldstadt. A very good combination. First hiking, biking and … relaxing in and around Pressbaum! Then exciting culture and history in Vienna, named the most liveable city in the world! The cherry on the cake: our opportunity to get to know, at the beginning and at the end of our exchange, the charming, very musical Wigelbeyer family. We highly recommend them. Great location in malmø. Close proximity to much. Public transport, city centre and shopping center.
Motsvarade förväntningarna. Goda förbindelser till närliggande Århus, som är en fascinerande stad.
Nous nous sommes rencontrés au début pour échanger les clés chez nous, puis chez Nils et Eva, à la fin du séjour, pour leur restitution . Nils parlant français couramment, les échanges étaient facilités. Les moments d'échange furent très agréables . L'appartement de Nils et Eva est spacieux et très bien équipé, il est situé dans un ensemble d'environ 5 immeubles avec espaces verts bien entretenus. Malmö nous a agréablement surpris : ville animée mais à taille humaine où tous les déplacements peuvent se faire à vélo grâce aux 2 vélos que Nils et Eva nous avaient prêtés, possibilité de tourisme culturel, proximité de la plage de Ribersborg, Copenhague accessible facilement en train ainsi que Ysdat, Lund et Landfskrona etc...

Our elder son, Andreas, also lives in Malmö, with his wife and our two grandchildren. He works with the municipal IT services. Our younger son, Ulrik, journalist and youth worker, is quite happy to live in the north of Sweden, in Umeå.
