Unique home next to woodland (Narnia) on the edge of Oxford. Easy access to London
Keen to find an exchange for New Years period not to far away; where we could bring our youngest child and well behaved dog!
Also looking for exchanges for Easter and Summer
Our home is around 6km from the centre of the historic city of Oxford. We are ideally located on the edge of the city, but with the benefits of the countryside. To the rear we have a field and to one side the CS Lewis Nature Reserve - woods which were owned by and inspired the author of the Narnia books and where he allegedly hung out with Tolkein! The Hobbit apparently started his walk from the woods as well!
Dave built the house and moved into it in 2008. The house is built to a high specification. The key features are the two windows - one to the side and one to the rear - which stretch the height of the house. We have four bedrooms.
Our home is a haven for children and adults alike. In the garden we have lots of childrens play equipment. We have private gates to enter the afforementioned woods and field. We like to walk a 100m to the pond in the woods and feed the ducks and try to catch fish.
We have a bus stop at the end our road which will take you to Oxford. Just a little further away is the bus stop to London (800m). It takes just over an hour to get to London (£16 return). Also close by are the famous Cotswolds and famous towns such as Woodstock and Burford.
We are happy to negotiate use of a vehicle. We have a dog Buster - but would either take him with us or put him in kennels.

A lovely, comfortable, spacious, family home and the hosts were very pleasant and helpful both during the arrangement of the exchange and during the exchange itself. It is a lovely quiet location with easy bus access to Oxford and to London. I would highly recommend an exchange here.
Whahhh, what a great Intervac Home Exchange once more with nice people in a nice house in a shady garden. Good communication with very friendly and careful partners from Oxford, mostly via WhatsApp, since the beginning and all along our stay, sending photos or tips of visits and activities. Perfect location in a fairy tale environment ( their property is part of the C.S.Lewis nature reserve, the opportunity to feel part of the Narnia world around: unusual isn’t it?). I was personally delighted to (re)read « the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe « our partner had recommended us. Moreover as National Trust members we had lots of opportunities to visit exceptional gardens and manors in all directions. And the weather was really very kind to us! What else?
Helpful interactions with Dave prior to, during, and after the exchange. Lovely house in Oxford, well maintained inside and out. Everything needed was available, along with a lot of toys for the kids.
Great communication, amazing house in a wonderful location and returned to our place to find everything perfect. Highly recommend!

Teachers who love to visit new places.
We enjoy being outside and are very keen to explore coastal regions in UK and abroad. We sometimes travel with just our youngest child; and sometimes with all three children
