Hillerød, Danmark

Our house is located in Hillerød 30 km north of the city of Copenhagen close to the forest and the sea.

Our house is a well-equipped three-storey family house in a quiet area. It contains three bedrooms on the first floor, and two bedrooms in the basement (2 single beds and 3 double beds). There are three modern bathrooms, a kitchen, dining and living room. From the kitchen you can enter the large wooden terrace where you can eat and barbecue while overlooking the garden. It is possible to use our washing machine and tumble dryer, Wi-Fi etc. We also have bicycles in different sizes to borrow.

Hillerød is perfectly located regarding public transportation (mostly train) to all of North Zealand and Copenhagen. Walking distance to train connections to Copenhagen (an approximately 40 minutes train ride. During the daytime the train leaves every 10 minutes). Copenhagen International Airport can be reached by car (45 minutes) or train/metro (1 hour).

Copenhagen is known for The Little Mermaid, Nyhavn, the freetown of Christiania and Tivoli. It is also possible to visit festivals, museums and some of the best restaurants in Europe (read more: visitcopenhagen.com).

North Zealand is famous for its royal castles, beautiful forests and large sandy beaches. Frederiksborg Castle is situated in the center of Hillerød. Nearby you will find Fredensborg Castle and Kronborg Castle (known from Shakespeares Hamlet). The North Zealand of Kings (Kongernes Nordsjælland) is the name of a new national park in North Zealand. At the north coast – which can be easily reached by car or train – you will find lovely beaches, small beach hotels and fishing villages.

Helsingør (Elsinore) is 30 minutes away. From Helsingør it is possible to reach Sweden for a day trip.

By car you can make excursions to Funen, where you can visit the house, where Hans Christian Andersen was born. It is also possible to make a daytrip to Legoland in Jutland (3 hours drive).
